How much does fridge repair cost in Gauteng?
It depends on the fault. Small repairs like thermostats, relays or door seals are the most affordable; compressor replacements and cold room repairs cost more. We quote the call-out fee upfront when you book, diagnose on site, and give you a written quote before any work starts, so you always know the full price before committing to anything.
Why is my fridge not cooling but the freezer is working?
This is usually an airflow problem rather than a gas or compressor problem. Cold air is made in the freezer and blown into the fridge section. If the defrost system fails, ice builds up and blocks the air channel, so the fridge warms up while the freezer keeps working. A faulty evaporator fan or damper can cause the same symptom. The good news: it's one of the most common and most repairable faults we see.
How long does a fridge compressor last?
A healthy compressor typically lasts 10 to 20 years. In Gauteng, power surges from load-shedding shorten that considerably if the fridge isn't protected. Warning signs include loud humming, clicking on and off, a hot compressor body, and food not staying cold. Do you repair commercial fridges after hours?
Our standard hours are Monday to Friday 08:00–17:00 and Saturday 08:00–13:00, and emergency commercial breakdowns get priority during those times. If your cold room or display fridge fails with stock at risk, call us, we'll tell you honestly what's possible for your situation and talk you through slowing the loss in the meantime.
How fast can a technician come?
Most call-outs booked before midday are attended the same day across Johannesburg, Pretoria and surrounding areas. Emergencies with stock or food at risk jump the queue. When you book we give you an honest time window, not a vague "sometime this week".
Is it worth repairing my fridge, or should I replace it?
A good rule of thumb: if the repair costs less than half the price of an equivalent new fridge and the unit is under ten years old, repairing usually wins. Our technicians will tell you straight, if a repair doesn't make financial sense, we'll say so and help you choose a replacement instead.
Do you repair fridges at my home, or take them away?
We repair at your home or business, there's no workshop drop-off. Our vans carry the most common parts (thermostats, relays, fan motors, gas and popular compressors), so most repairs are completed on site in a single visit. If a rare part is needed, we source it and return to fit it.
Do you regas fridges, and is a regas all my fridge needs?
Yes, we regas, but a fridge should never simply "run out" of gas. Low gas means there's a leak somewhere. We find it with electronic leak detection, repair it, then recover and recharge the gas to the manufacturer's specification. A regas without fixing the leak is money down the drain.

Do you charge a call-out fee?
Yes, there's a call-out fee, and we tell you exactly what it is when you book, so there are no surprises. It covers the technician's travel and a full on-site diagnosis with proper instruments. If you go ahead with the repair, you only pay the quoted repair price on top, and you approve that written quote before any work begins.
Do your repairs come with a guarantee?
Every repair leaves with a written workmanship guarantee covering both the labour and any parts we fit. If the same fault returns within the cover period, we come back and put it right at no charge, along with a written record of the fault found, the work done and the parts used.
Do you use genuine replacement parts?
Wherever possible we fit genuine manufacturer parts. When a genuine part is discontinued, common on older fridges, we use a quality-matched equivalent rated for the same duty, and we tell you which we're using before we fit it. We don't bodge a repair with the wrong component just to close the job.
How do I pay for the repair?
Payment is due once the repair is complete and you've seen the fridge running cold. We accept card, EFT and cash, and business customers can be invoiced. You'll always have a written quote in hand before we start, so the final amount is never a shock.
